I'M BACK.

I have stepped outside and away from this space. Pretty Fearless was my baby. I wnated so much for her. I feel like I let her down. I needed to re-group...again. I sold all of my clothes on ebay with the exception of anything black. I thought that would help me get a perspective on my wardrobe and figure out what my real style is. Well, that is still up for grabs. I guess I just figured out that I like all kinds of styles. Sort of like playing dress up and being different characters every day. My intention is to see where that leads me. All I know for sure is that I am a girl who loves fashion. Pretty Fearless is my sort of personal place to play with these things.

Black and White Fashion Inspiration

Black and White looks good at every price range. Find some white shirts at the thrift store. Waqsh and blech them to a glowing white. Spray starch and iron them and you have a fashion basic that is great with so many looks. Sometimes I like the men's shirts and you can roll the sleeves, or wrap the tails of the shirt around your waist and add a brooch. Black tee shirts look grat on theiro own with an armful of bracelets or under a completer piece like a cardigan or jacket. They are seasonless and classic.

Green Goddess

This dress is by Jones of New York. It came with a matching green belt but I decided to use my leopard skinny belt. Paired with my natural wedges I like this look. The dress also comes in teal and I had to get that one too because they are on sale at Macys.

New House Ideas

I'm buying things from thrift stores and giving them a coat of paint. These images inspire me. I hope they inspire you this week too.

Black and Blue

This whole lok is from J C Penney. The jacket was 14.00, top 8.00 and pants 2.00. I can't get enough of Penneys plus size department or their prices.

More Penney's Flavor

Khaki pants 12.00 and shirt 14.00. Vintage Nine West pumps. The necklace is from Nordstrom. I had to have it because of the dark teal green color. It is at least 2 years old.

Old LBD and New Target Belt

The bottom dress inspired this look. This is one of my many black dresses. I went to Target last week and bought a few belts. I like that this one is a kind of rough leather juxtaposed on a rather refind black dress. I think it works.

J C Penney Fashion Translation

I bought this jacket for $16.00 at J C Penney. Since it was tax fee weekend here in Virginia there was no sales tax. I also bought a pink and a blue one as well. You will see them in the future. This jacket reminded me of the jacket in the photo. It has a Chanel vibe. The Penney's jacket has a great fit. Not really boxy. It comes in a little at the waist to give a great hourglass look.

Decisions

I am currently wrestling with the decision of whether to continue blogging or not. Sometimes it feels like I have lost my mojo. If I am going to continue with Pretty Fearless, then I need to step it up. In that vein I will make a decision to go hard or go home. Now that I have graduated from college and secured a very good job with a very good group of co-workers, it should be easier to blog. It is not. All of the blogs I read are from people a lot younger than me. I have a young spirit, especially in fashion but I really want to reach out to some older lady bloggers. I think there is room and a need for fashion and beauty and lifestyle for the older set. Every blog I read by older women is all about what we can't wear, what we shouldn't do, etc... I started Pretty Fearless to give a view of life post 50 where we dress flyby, do what we feel, live our best lives. In that case I often feel that I have not done as good a job as I intended. I have a lot to consider. I will keep you guys posted on my soul search to find my inner blogger again or to let Pretty Fearless go. Stay tuned...

Transition Look

This is the hair style I will be rocking for the duration of the summer.I am transitioning from relaxed to natural hair and I think I finally figured out what to do with my hair in the interim. I don't have to do anything to it, not even comb it. It;s great. My hairstylist, Monica, wet sets my hair on very small rollers. It's great for a person like me who cannot abide sleeping with anything on my head.

Dinner With Danyale

Lovely Friday evening dinner at M Bistro, Richmond, Virginia.
